"Who first said, ‘It’s just business; it’s not personal’? We know your business is personal to you, and it’s personal to us.”
Erin focuses her practice in the areas of Corporate Law and Intellectual Property; she joined Kegler Brown in 2009.
Corporate Law
Erin assists new businesses with issues such as entity selection, formation and structuring. For established businesses, she practices in the areas of contract drafting, franchising, reorganization, and the duties of shareholders, directors and officers. She also assists clients in a variety of transactions, including mergers, asset purchases, stock purchases and transactions involving Employee Stock Ownership Plans (ESOPs). When businesses are facing a transition, she also assists them in issues of succession strategy, charitable giving and estate planning.
Erin counsels clients interested in international business arrangements. She helps with the legal and tax implications of distribution, outsourcing, expansion and investment abroad.
Intellectual Property
Erin works to ensure that firm clients have their most important assets – intellectual property – protected locally, nationally and internationally. She helps those clients secure, protect, and expand their IP through licensing, trademarks, copyrights, confidentiality agreements and covenants not to compete.
